Dr. Phillip Jones grew up in Paradise, California. He completed his undergraduate studies at La Sierra University in Riverside, California, and received his Doctorate of Medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. He completed his orthopedic residency at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Jones then completed a sports medicine fellowship at University of California, Los Angeles.

While at UCLA, Dr. Jones was the associate team physician for the Bruins football team, as well as the 2013 NCAA champion UCLA Bruins baseball team. He received specialized training in athletic injuries while focusing on prevention, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation. He is currently the team physician for the Paradise High School football team.

Dr. Jones specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee and also performs total shoulder, knee, and hip replacements. He also has extensive surgical training in orthopedic trauma, and was the Chief Resident of the LSU orthopedic trauma service, a Level 1 trauma center.

In 2013, Dr. Jones moved back to the Paradise and Chico area and joined an orthopedic practice with his father, Dr. Helmuth Jones and brother, Dr. Sidney Jones. Dr. Jones enjoys football, baseball, hunting and fishing, as well as spending time with his wife and two children.
